Request an item not in stock
If the item you want isn’t in stock, we have a request service for books, journal articles, music scores and play sets.
Please be aware that this is a chargeable service – charges listed below.
Books
If you can’t find the book you want on the library catalogue, we can try to get it for you by either buying a copy to add to our collection, or by borrowing it from another library in the UK or the British Library. There is a £10.00 charge for this service (we do not charge if we cannot obtain the item, or if we purchase it for stock). To request a book, please fill in this form.
Journal Articles
We can obtain copies of journal articles from the British Library Document Supply Centre. There is a £10.00 charge for this service. To request a journal article, please fill in this form.
Music Sets and Play Sets
Music Sets and Play Sets are priced according to the nature and size of the set, and there is a minimum price of £30.00. To find out more about this service, please contact us by email.
Why do I have to pay when you borrow items for me from another library in the UK?
The library service has to pay to borrow items from other libraries for you, or request journal articles. In addition, there are delivery costs to return items to the supplying library, and these can be quite considerable in the case of valuable or heavy items. It can also take considerable amounts of staff time to find a library able to supply these items for you and the fee we charge is a contribution to those costs.
